Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield believes that his price tag does weigh on Wolves striker Fabio Silva.

The 19-year-old signed for Wolves in September 2020 for £35.6m from Porto, which broke the club’s transfer record according to BBC Sport, and has gone on to make 43 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

The youngster has nine appearances in total for Wolves’ first-team and U23s squad so far this season, scoring the club’s only goal against Sunderland U23s in Premier League 2. Whilst he started both of Wolves’ Carabao Cup matches against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, Silva is yet to make a Premier League start this campaign and Hatfield believes that his price tag does weigh on him.

“Silva’s obviously still very young and very raw. He’s a player who was signed for big money and I think that price tag does weigh on him,” Hatfield told TIF.

Wolves are on a good run in the Premier League currently, as they are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three and drawing one, and have collected 13 points from their opening nine league fixtures.

Summer acquisition Hwang Hee-chan is leading the goalscoring charts for Wolves, with four goals in just six top-flight appearances, and the club know victory in their next game against Everton will see them leapfrog the Toffees in the league table.
