Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news surrounding Dele Alli ahead of tonight’s game in the League Cup.
The past few years have been something of a rough time for the 25-year-old, having been seen as an afterthought and a backup player under Jose Mourinho last season, he hasn’t been able to flourish as much like he did during his prime years at the club back in 2016/17.
Now he appears to be going down the same route with new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, having failed to get off the bench for their previous three Premier League games. To add to that, it emerged last night from The Daily Mail that he won’t be taking part in Spurs’ League Cup tie against Burnley at Turf Moor tonight.
This news was relayed to Tottenham fans by @thespursweb for fans to react to, where they seemed to be happy to see him out of the team, with some seeming to suggest that his latest exclusion might be a hint that he’s on his way out of the club:
“Yep. I think it’s curtains now for Dele. Always been a fan and I think he is a talent. But he has been given many chances to pull his finger out and unfortunately it hasn’t happened. He is the sort of player that will move to another club and will become a player again. Shame.”
Will Dele Alli still be at Spurs after the January transfer market?
Yes
No
There have been hints in the past that the club seem to be happy to let him leave, so it certainly wouldn’t be a total surprise if these fans thoughts came true.
