A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left less than impressed after Jack Clarke posted an image of himself on social media.
Back in 2019, Spurs paid Leeds United a reported initial fee of £8.5m for the youngster’s services. Since then, however, he has been limited to just 95 minutes of senior football in north London (as per Transfermarkt).
His only appearance for Nuno Espirito Santo to this point came off the bench in a Europa Conference League qualifying match against FC Pacos de Ferreira.
Will Ryan Sessegnon ever come good for Spurs?
Yes
No
With that in mind, it seems that the 20-year-old wanted to express some frustrations online recently as he posted a picture of himself on Instagram accompanied by the caption: “Patiently waiting.”
The Spurs Web shared the image with its followers and it quickly caused a stir amongst many members of the club’s fanbase.
What exactly did these Spurs fans say?
“What a waste of $12 million.”
While ‘patiently waiting’ this season, Clarke has had to play most of his football at academy level. Indeed, he has featured seven times in the Premier League 2 competition, claiming two assists.
Meanwhile, he has also had the chance to impress in the Papa John’s Trophy, where he has played twice and grabbed one assist.
At a fairly young age, the future is all ahead of Clarke. However, judging from these comments, it just may not be with Tottenham.
