Despite their victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, Spurs fans have criticised Tanguy Ndombele’s performance in midfield.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side ended their disastrous recent run of defeats in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory at home, thanks to goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and an own goal from Matt Targett.

Would you sell Ndombele?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

One man who struggled to make his mark on the game once again, was Ndombele, and Spurs fans were quick to call him out on it.

What did Spurs fans think of Ndombele’s performance?

“Tanguy Ndombele is hot garbage”

@JoeHollenbach

“Great win today just what we needed. Son, Dier & Romero all superb, and Royal also played a blinder. Awful from Ndombele. Does nothing off the ball.”

@PoliticalGraham

“Ndombele is a lost cause- take the hit and get rid. Harry a sad shadow of himself. Sonny escaped his gailers and played a blinder. As usual. In defence I liked Romero and Dier – much more solid.”

@RobertH1947

“Absolutely terrible today, worst player across both teams.”

@jack_sfinch

“Ndombele has been another level of shocking”

@Georgelippy321

“Ndombele has been shocking complete passenger”

@jme_900

“Ndombele has been awful today!”

@HenryWright96

“Why ndombele still on the pitch? Offer nothing”

@EdwardNygma111

“It’s like playing with ten men”

@DCfromN17

Writing in his post-match player ratings, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold gave him a six, saying: “Playing in the number 10 role, he struggled to make an impact with some hesitation in key moments for him. His best opportunity came around the hour mark when he beat a couple of defenders before sending in a low shot that Martinez held.”

With no goals in his three Premier League appearances thus far this season, Ndombele clearly needs to do a lot more to justify his place in Nuno’s starting line-up.

The fact the Frenchman has now started the past three games in the top-flight though is an indication that Nuno is keen to try and eke out the best in the talented former Lyon star.

After the international break, Spurs make the trip to Tyneside to face Newcastle at St James’ Park, and Ndombele will be hoping to keep his place for that game.

Meanwhile, many Spurs fans have slammed this “shocking” star…
