Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts believes that Spurs need a creative midfield player and another striker in January.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo signed five new players during the summer as Cristian Romero, Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Pape Matar Sarr and Emerson Royal all put pen-to-paper on deals with the club.

Ex-player Roberts believes that the club need to continue to strengthen in January, identifying two areas where he thinks Spurs need to add to.

“For me what we have to do is spend in January. I think we need a creative midfield player, somebody that can play that ball like Hojbjerg played the other day but from a closer range to Harry Kane and Son and Moura, and maybe another striker,” Roberts told TIF.

One name that Spurs were linked with during the summer transfer window was Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, but the Argentine star has dedicated his future to the Serie A champions, as he signed a five-year contract extension which runs until June 2026.

Another player that Spurs are linked with is Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, with Calciomercato reporting that he will not be extending his contract with the Bundesliga champions, which expires in June 2022.
