Many Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting line-up against West Ham in the Premier League.

Nuno’s side come into the game at the London Stadium after managing to win their last two games, a narrow 2-1 win against Aston Villa and a convincing 3-2 victory against St. James Park last week, to rise to fifth place in the league.

However, ahead of today’s clash against the Hammers, the manager knows well that a victory over West Ham will send them into the top four on current standings, as they gear up for this epic London derby.

However, Nuno has made the call to omit Dilan Markanday from his matchday squad in the vital clash against David Moyes’ side this afternoon, while Dele Alli made the bench.

And, after hearing about Nuno’s starting line-up, many Spurs fans took to Twitter to discuss the news.

What did Spurs fans have to say about it?

“No Markanday on the bench?????”

“Where is Markanday”

“If someone can tell me what Bergwijn did to justify a place on the bench above Markanday, I’d be most grateful”
“State of that bench. Terrible”
“State of that bench! So many quality subs…
“Why Dele still on the bench He should watch the match from his home”

After making 11 changes during their midweek Conference League defeat to Vitesse Arnhem, it is hardly a surprise that the Portuguese has resorted to the original XI that defeated Newcastle 3-2 last week at St. James Park as Spurs seek to become the first team in Premier League history to begin a top-flight season with three wins, three defeats, then three further wins.

However, Spurs fans were hoping that Markanday would at least make the bench against the Hammers as Nuno’s side look to secure a vital three points and move up to fourth in the league table.
