A whole host of Newcastle United fans on Twitter are buzzing with Jonas Gutierrez’s latest tweet.

The Magpies, after 14 long years, finally have new owners, with PCP Capital Partners seeing their takeover of Newcastle United being passed through by the Premier League last Thursday – and to say fans were happy would be an understatement given some of the scenes outside of St. James’ Park.

Who would be a better manager for Newcastle?

Lampard!

Lampard!

Favre!

Favre!

A former player who had a particularly poor relationship with Ashley was Gutierrez, with the winger cupping his ears towards the former owner when he scored his last goal for the club against West Ham United in 2015 and won a court case against Ashley and the club following his release after just beating testicular cancer – and his latest tweet shows his sheer delight with Ashley being out of the club.

A lot of Newcastle fans are very happy on Twitter with Gutierrez’s tweet.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Get this man back in my club”

@FindlayGreen1

“Hope your a embassador for the club in the future. #legend”

@SirPaulEvans

“What a legend!!”

@omgrotb

“I miss him”

@Ricknufc

“Jonas really deserves a statue.”

@Jack_Rogers97

“Be glorious to see him back at some point after the way they treated him!”

@JM9_NUFC

“Your comeback as a substitute v Man U is still my most emotional moment as a Newcastle fan, you will always be welcomed back”

@wessas68

Gutierrez was certainly a top, loyal servant for the club having spent nine years on Tyneside and racking up 205 appearances, with the end of his time at the club not being as he would have intended it to be, but the night he made his home return from beating cancer was an emotional one for everyone.

Following PCP Capital Partners acquiring Newcastle, reports have claimed that club legends such as Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan will be offered roles at the club and the new owners could do much worse than to offer someone like Gutierrez a role along those lines.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?
