Following the recent completion of the Saudi-backed consortium takeover at Newcastle United, the club’s new hierarchy could keep hold of Lee Charnley

According to The Daily Mail, Steve Bruce will be sacked this coming week after Newcastle’s owners realised the negative impact his presence could potentially have in their opening game against Spurs after the international break concludes.

Amanda Staveley and her advisors have a shortlist within a longer list of names identified as Bruce’s replacement, with former Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre, Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers and Rangers boss Steven Gerrard all be believed to be under consideration.

But the report also added that there could be one man from the old regime who could be kept on, with Charnley seen as a good operator and someone who knows the workings of the club.

What did these Newcastle fans make of the rumoured managerial candidates?
