Newcastle United fans have been reacting to footage that has emerged of former player and manager Kevin Keegan following the takeover at the club.
Keegan was speaking at a Q&A event in Cramlington, where he talked about a number of issues surrounding Newcastle United, but given the news of recent weeks, one topic was always going to be very high on the agenda.
Footage of his appearance was captured and shared on Twitter, and in the video, Keegan spoke about how happy he was that the club have been bought out by the Saudi Arabian investors and how their money will allow them to compete with teams at the high-end of the league, whilst also throwing his support behind the new owners for how he thinks they’re going to run the club in other aspects.
The footage was then relayed to supporters by fan account @NUFC360 for them to react to, and there were plenty of them on hand to show their support for King Kev, with many hoping that he’ll play a part in the club’s setup moving forward:
“I could listen to Keegan talk all day, can’t wait until he is back at the ground again and hopefully gets to become a club ambassador.”
“It’s like listening to your knowledgeable grandad or uncle. He needs a role somewhere in the club.“
Will Newcastle's new owners lead the club to success?
Yes
No
Keegan was someone who felt unwelcome at St. James’ Park under the Mike Ashley regime, so hopefully things will change for him now that the new owners have taken charge.
