Many Newcastle United fans have been left extremely frustrated after a statistic emerged which showed that their club has played a number of low-ranking Premier League teams without beating any of them.
Indeed, a tweet from journalist Mark Douglas explained that the Magpies have faced the 18th, 17th, 16th and 14th-placed teams in the league (at time of playing) so far this season – but have recorded zero wins from those fixtures.
These games at the bottom half of the table are the sorts of games any team hoping to avoid relegation will likely need to perform in. Having failed to do so, and with games against Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, and Chelsea all on the horizon for the remainder of October, the immediate future doesn’t look so bright for Steve Bruce’s men right now.
