Many Newcastle United fans have slammed Joelinton’s performance against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Magpies fell to yet another disappointing result in the top-flight, with two goals from Hwang Hee-chan either side of a strike from Jeff Hendrick seeing the Tyneside club remain win-less this season.

Is Joelinton good enough for Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

One man who the Toon Army took aim at for a bit of criticism was Joelinton, and below is a selection of the kind of fan reaction from Twitter towards his display.

What did Newcastle fans make of Joelinton’s performance vs Wolves?

“Joelinton is not a footballer.”

@rash_podcast

“I’m not just blaming Joelinton but the lad shouldn’t be starting, he offers nothing!!! Doesn’t create or score goals or even offer any threat. This club is sinking fast and the first thing that has to happen is the manager needs to leave now, it’s McLaren all over again!!”

@smith_nufc

“Give over. He’s mentally and physically weak. A born loser like his boss. He’s a perfect representation of the lowering of standards at NUFC. Any degree of competence lauded as excellence. He’s turned into a badge of honour for fans who think they are more insightful. Garbage.”

@1211_trent

“There’s not and never will be. He’s rubbish and what’s even worse is he’s a massive coward”

@jackm1892

“Another loss, another abject performance, two poor goals conceded, Joelinton terrible, Bruce inept, second-bottom and life sucked out of the fans. #NUFC is truly a finished club. No longer bothering.”

@Kwamzfinesse

“nooooo get that stump joelinton off hes dreadful”

@BullerNiel

Writing in his post-match player ratings for The Chronicle, Lee Ryder gave him a six, saying: “Helped create Hendrick’s goal. Held the ball up well at times and made six aerial clearances.”

All in all, yesterday’s performance against Wolves probably wasn’t Joelinton’s worst, but that’s perhaps more a statement of just how low the standards have been.

The Brazilian has just struggled massively to cope with the weight of expectations on his shoulders, and whether it’s been deployed as a left-winger, or given a run up front previously, he’s been unable to deliver.

In other news, Newcastle fans loved this academy star’s goal…
