Plenty of Newcastle United fans erupted on Twitter after seeing Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse being linked with a move to their club.
According to a report by Football Insider, the Saints captain is a ‘firm target’ for the Magpies who will plot a move for him this January when the transfer window opens.
Of course, any deal may be complicated as Ward-Prowse only signed a new contract with his club last August. The report mentions this fact but stated a ‘club source’ claimed this will not stop Newcastle due to their newfound wealth.
Other names reported to be on the Magpies transfer list were Aston Villa’s Marvelous Nakamba and Jesse Lingard of Manchester United.
