Football journalist Mark Ogden has featured on Fabrizio Romano’s latest Twitch stream to discuss potential transfer moves ahead of the January window.

The main talking points were the current state of affairs at Manchester United, however, discussions on one of the players at Old Trafford brought up Everton’s interest in a potential January deal.

The player in question being Donny van de Beek who has endured a miserable time in the Premier League since he arrived from Ajax in 2020.

Van de Beek only made 19 appearances for the Red Devils last season in the league and to date has only played six minutes of Premier League football this campaign.

Everton’s director of football, Marcel Brands, has already stated the Toffees were interested in the midfielder over the summer and speaking on their interest, Ogden had the following to say.

(24:45) “I think when January comes Everton are quite keen to take Van de Beek. But it depends. If a new manager comes in, he might want to say to Van de Beek: ‘I’m going to give you a chance’. So everything depends on who the manager is.”

TIF Thoughts on Van de Beek’s future…

Six minutes of Premier League football this season. Just six minutes of action in a game in which United were already 3-1 to the good in is all the 24-year-old has played in the league this season.

For us, the Dutchman has to find a way out of Old Trafford in January for his own good. Having shown big potential during his time with Ajax, it will be interesting to see how many clubs are willing to overlook his time at what has been the Theatre of Nightmares for Van de Beek.

Ogden believes the Toffees could revive their interest in the £22.5m-rated midfielder in January, however, there was interest from Tottenham Hotspur in the past so we’re interested to see if any other clubs could challenge Everton for his services.
