Leeds United fans have been reacting to a suggestion made by journalist Joe Urquhart surrounding midfielder Adam Forshaw.
Leeds are very much down to the bare bones when it comes to their playing squad, with a number of players suffering with injuries, and it’s even started to raise a few questions about how boss Marcelo Bielsa handles the size of his team.
With options – especially in the centre of midfield – looking bleak, journalist Urquhart began looking for options to try and get Leeds United through their current predicament.
Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post, he suggested that Bielsa could play Forshaw in defensive midfield, a position usually taken by the injured Kalvin Phillips.
His views were relayed on Twitter by fellow journalist Graham Smyth, where the idea did not go down well with a section of the supporters:
“Forshaw shouldn’t be anywhere near our first team”
Will Adam Forshaw be a valuable player for Leeds this season?
Yes
No
They are right to be concerned, as given Forshaw’s own injury problems, which have meant he hasn’t completed 90 minutes for the club since August 2019, it is likely that he isn’t totally up to speed at this moment in time to fill in during this emergency.
