Leeds United fans have been reacting to injury news coming out of the club surrounding Junior Firpo.

Things are going from bad to worse when it comes to Leeds this season. They’ve only managed to win one game so far this campaign, but to add to all of that, they are also dealing with a number of absences through injuries, and now it looks as if you can add Firpo to that list as well.

The Dominican has been something of a regular for Leeds United this season since his summer move from Barcelona, starting seven games in total and completing six of them. However, he missed their defeat to Southampton at the weekend.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

And speaking in his press conference after the game, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that he had a muscular injury, but wouldn’t give a timescale for his return.

This news was relayed to fans by journalist Phil Hay, and it led to a number of frustrated responses from them:

“Glad every player bar raph we have brought is made out of cardboard”

“The left back curse continues. Letting Alioski go looks to have been a real misstep”
“Another waste of 13 million.. Let better Go.. For nothing.”
“What is it with Leeds and signing players who can’t sustain fitness? Koch, Llorente, Rodrigo now Firpo who we’ve signed in the last season or so and can’t stay fit!”
“How? He’s done nothing”
“Laughable man”
“Has something gone on behind the scenes Phil? They’ve seemed not up for it since pre-season. Can’t be just because we are in poor form.”

Injuries have certainly hampered Firpo throughout his career so far, and hopefully this latest setback isn’t a sign that he could be out for the long run at Elland Road.
