Former Premier League striker Dean Windass thinks that Leeds United’s Raphinha is a fantastic talent and is worth £60m.

The 24-year-old signed for Leeds from Rennes for £17m plus add-ons, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal [BBC Sport].

Raphinha has put in some eye-catching performances for both club and country. In his first campaign in the Premier League last term, the Brazilian scored eight goals and provided eleven assists for his teammates and continued his fine form on for his national side, as he has got himself two goals and two assists in just three appearances in World Cup qualification.

Do you think Raphinha will depart Leeds United in January?

Since arriving in England, his performances have caught the eye, with Graeme Souness saying on Sky Sports (via LeedsAllOver) last season: “He’s a flair player but works his socks off. I think there’s a goal in him. There’s lots to like about him.”

Whilst you would imagine Leeds won’t want to lose Raphinha, when quizzed on him and his price tag in today’s market, Windass told TIF: “If he goes in January, you’ll be talking £60m. I think he’s a talent.

“He’s on the right-hand side and under Bielsa he does track back. He has to track back because that’s what Bielsa wants his team to do. He just doesn’t want you to play with the ball, he wants you to play without it and if you do lose him, I think they’re the figures, fifty, sixty million, that you would be talking.”

There appears to be further interest in Raphinha’s signature, as Teamtalk have reported that they understand Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have joined Liverpool in the race for the Brazilian after he caught the attention of Neymar.
