A whole host of Celtic fans are furious on Twitter with Carl Starfelt’s latest press conference comments.

Celtic are gearing up to welcome Bayer Leverkusen to Glasgow in the Europa League, with the two sides experiencing differing fortunes in their opening match of the competition, as Celtic suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Real Betis, while Leverkusen recorded a 2-1 victory against Ferencvaros.

The Bhoys will be hopeful of turning around their poor recent run of form which has seen them fail to win their last two league matches and win just twice in their last seven games in all competitions – but that’s not stopped Starfelt from saying they can beat anyone at Celtic Park, despite drawing 1-1 with Dundee United last weekend at home.

A lot of Celtic fans are very annoyed on Twitter with Starfelt’s latest comments.

What have these Celtic fans been saying?

“The big man defo doesn’t fill me with confidence”

“Are you joking”

@MamaAlbert74

“I’d be more confident if he wasn’t playing to be fair”

@mcginleybhoy

“Actions speak louder than words big man”

@Celtic67Champs

“You couldn’t even track the Dundee United player Harkes on the weekend, son, and he scored. You need to give your head a shake, big man.”

@thebluecomet

“He gives me the fear.”

@Claramcg4

“Mad how he’s so confident when he’s a big part of the reason we’re dropping points at Celtic Park.”

Starfelt was Ange Postecoglou’s second-most expensive signing of the summer as the club forked out £4.5 million for the centre-back, who had spent the last two seasons out in Russia with Rubin Kazan – and since arriving in Glasgow, he’s started all but two games.

How much do you think members of the Bhoys' squad are worth according to Transfermarkt? Starting with an easy one how much do you think Odsonne Edouard is worth?

Ange will be hoping that his new centre-back can start getting the defence in order and picking up some clean sheets, with Celtic having only picked up three in the league so far, although all of them have come at Celtic Park, which is perhaps a good omen for tonight’s clash.
