Many Newcastle United fans have reacted with anger online over Steve Bruce’s latest quotes ahead of the club’s next game.

As the Magpies prepare to face Watford in the Premier League, it was confirmed that they would be missing a number of key first-team players.

Indeed, the likes of Callum Wilson, Joe Willock, Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Freddie Woodman and Jonjo Shelvey are all set to be missing due to various issues.

Discussing the club’s current poor fitness record, Bruce was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “We, unfortunately, seem to pick up more than most. We’ll look into it, that’s for sure.”

Author of the article, Craig Hope, shared those specific quotes with his Twitter followers and they didn’t seem to go down very well.

Here’s what these Newcastle fans said…

“Lost for words.”

“Bizarre that this happens at every club when Bruce is manager. What are the chances?”

“He’s had 2 years to realise… and it takes a prompt before he says he’ll look into it. #bruceout.”

“Hasn’t this also been true at his previous clubs? Seems a common denominator in this…..”

“Wasn’t a problem under the previous incumbent.”

“WE? It’s every club he has managed the fraud #bruceout.”

“Steve Bruce once again is CLUELESS. You wouldn’t trust him to run a corner shop!”
Many fans seem to think the issue is with Bruce and not the club. Some even brought up the fact that former boss Rafa Benitez did not have this issue. In fact, he was praised for finding a way to successfully combat the injury situation on Tyneside.

Will Steve Bruce still be Newcastle manager by the end of October?

Yes

Yes

No

No

It doesn’t look as if the supporters have a lot of faith in their current manager fixing the problem. But who knows, maybe if he does ‘look into it’, Bruce could find his own solution.
