Lots of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge regarding the upcoming hearing against the Premier League.
According to reports, the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) hearing involving the Toon will be streamed for fans to watch on 29th September.
Can you see the proposed takeover happening?
The case was brought up by Newcastle owner Mike Ashley in an attempt to push through the proposed takeover bid and, according to the report from NewcastleWorld, as a method to gain compensation due to the stalled timescale of the process.
Newcastle fans flocked to the tweet from NUFC360 relaying the update from NewcastleWorld to share their thoughts on the case being streamed live for fans to view.
“Jurisdiction hearing. Potential to last mins & either a YES followed by a new date or a firm No we are not the correct court take this elsewhere. Very unlikely it will come to a close this year if they say yes.”
On the field, Steve Bruce’s side are still looking for their first victory of the season in the Premier League following their 1-1 draw on Friday night against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Although the season has not started the way the fans would have wanted, it is clear this update has provided some excitement among these fans as they hope to see a conclusion in their off-the-field matters.
