Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have shown their fury on Twitter at the showing from Matt Doherty in their game against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday night.

The right-back started for Nuno Espirito Santo for the second time in the space of a week having made his XI in the reverse fixture in Portugal last week.

However, he is yet to get the nod under the new Tottenham boss in the Premier League with academy product, Japhet Tanganga, starting both of the opening two games (via Transfermarkt).

Spurs fans vented their fury on Twitter towards their Irish defender who played the full 90 minutes against the Portuguese outfit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Doherty ain’t even league 2”

“Almost impressive at this point that no matter the opposition, no matter the situation, Matt Doherty is absolutely useless”
“Doherty. There are no more words for your mediocrity.”
“Doherty reeks”
“Doherty is utterly terrible, thank god it’ll be more acceptable to sell him next summer, need him gone asap”
“Doherty is the worst player I’ve ever seen”
“Doherty isn’t a PL footballer.”

Doherty has been linked with a potential move away from the north London club this summer despite only joining last year from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite earning themselves a spot in the draw on Friday, it is clear to see the performance from the £65k-per-week defender did not impress these Spurs fans at all.
