Former Scottish footballer Alan Rough has outlined what he thinks Celtic must do if they are to pull off the signing of Kevin Nisbet this summer.

The Bhoys have been linked with a move for the striker on a number of occasions throughout the transfer market, but as things stand, Nisbet is still a Hibernian player.

There has been talk of swapping Leigh Griffiths for the 24-year-old, but that deal has been rubbished by Hibs manager Jack Ross.

Rough evidently believes that failed proposition means Celtic are yet to force Hibs into making any proper decisions on the player as of yet.

While speaking on the PLZ Football Show, he explained what the club should do if they really want to bring the striker in.

Rough said: “When that £3m bid lands on a table, then people start making decisions. Obviously, that bid isn’t on the table, because they’ve been distracted.

“But if they really, really want him and x amount goes on the table, then they [Hibs] have to look at it.”

TIF thoughts on Kevin Nisbet and Celtic…

Nisbet has shown his quality early on in this season already – featuring six times for his club, scoring twice as well as claiming two assists.

This form comes off the back of a good summer where he featured three times for his country at Euro 2020.

If Celtic really are keen on the 24-year-old, they may have to put a concrete offer on the table – one that doesn’t involve Leigh Griffiths.

Until then, as Rough says, Nisbet’s current side don’t really have much of a decision to make.
