Football journalist and presenter Ian McGarry has been sharing some details concerning Harry Kane and his current situation at Tottenham Hotspur and a potential transfer away from the club to Manchester City this summer.

This comes after McGarry co-hosted a recent episode of The Transfer Window Podcast where he spoke about a range of transfer-related subjects alongside journalist Duncan Castles.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

On the subject of Kane, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, McGarry had this to say on the current situation.

He said: “It is our information at The Transfer Window podcast that Harry Kane will, if need be, submit a formal transfer request to Tottenham Hotspur in order to force through his move to Manchester City. With 14 days left of the window being open, he is determined still to make that move.

“However, Daniel Levy is also determined to extract a maximum value from the sale of the player in order to furnish his team with the best possible chance, obviously, of replacing him and also competing during this season.”

As a product of Tottenham’s youth system, Kane made his senior debut for the Lilywhites back in 2011 in a Europa League match against Scottish side Hearts.

Since then, the 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £108 million according to Transfermarkt, has made 336 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, scoring an astonishing 221 goals and providing 47 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Ian McGarry’s comments on Kane and his current situation…

In our view, it’s understandable why the north London club and Daniel Levy would want to get as much money as possible for Kane if they are to sell him to a fellow Premier League club this summer based on just how important he has been for the Lilywhites over the years in terms of scoring goals.

Do you think Kane would put in a transfer request?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, taking into account McGarry’s claim that Kane would be willing to hand in a transfer request to force a move to Manchester City this summer, we feel that because the Englishman recently released a statement saying that he wouldn’t do anything to jeopardise his relationship with the Spurs fans, we feel that potentially handing in a transfer request would go against what he said in his statement and therefore unlikely to happen, in our view.
