Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to a recent video of Toon goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

This comes after the official Newcastle Twitter account shared a post that contained the video of Woodman speaking to the club’s media after he made his Premier League debut for the club during their recent 4-2 defeat against West Ham United.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

During the video, Woodman said that it is a “big honour” to be able to play for Newcastle, where he hopes he can continue playing for the foreseeable future.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from a range of Toon supporters, who were quick to share their responses to what the shot-stopper had to say.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to these latest comments from Woodman?

Speaks really well. And he seems really sincere about how much it means to him to play for us. Really hope he develops well and that his long-term future is here at the club. #NUFC

“Now that is what you want to hear as a supporter, just wish the owner and manager had the same thoughts, got a big future this lad”

@ben_bob10

“I thought he did well on Sunday. Let down by our defence more than anything. He’ll be quality”

@wilsoa10

“Number 1 for years to come”

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Newcastle fans are happy to hear Woodman’s joy at having played his first Premier League game for the club and his wish to continue playing for them, something these fans also would like to see happen.

Do you think Woodman should be Newcastle's number one goalkeeper?

Yes

No

No

In our view, even though Woodman conceded four goals during his Premier League debut against West Ham, it’s great to see the positivity Woodman has for the club and the positivity these fans share for the 24-year-old, who hopefully, can continue to play for Steve Bruce’s side.

Moving forward, if Woodman can keep his place in the team during Newcastle’s upcoming Premier League game against Aston Villa, he can stake another claim to cement a regular spot in Bruce’s first-team plans, which would surely only further delight these fans.
