Former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer is not surprised Raphael Varane only wanted to join Manchester United this summer.
Varane will be playing his football at Old Trafford this season after Manchester United struck an agreement with Real Madrid last month to sign the central defender.
According to ESPN, both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain could have also been potential destinations, with Real Madrid having attempted to bring the two European giants to the negotiating table. Varane, though, was only interested in United.

It comes as no shock to Palmer, who emphasised how big of a club United are in an exclusive interview with TIF.
“No, Man United is a massive, massive, massive football club,” the ex-Leeds United midfielder said when asked if he was surprised by ESPN’s report on the Varane deal.
“And I think that, for me, is one of the best signings of the summer. He’s a Rolls-Royce.”
First Jadon Sancho and then Varane, it is quite some transfer window United are having this summer.
The minimum expectation will surely be for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to challenge for the title and win a piece of silverware after coming so close to bagging the Europa League last season.
