Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage that has been posted on the club’s social media page surrounding Daniel James.
It’s a deal that has been more than two years in the making, as complications arose when they first tried to sign him back in the January window of 2019, but the deal has been made official this time around, and the Welshman will be playing for Marcelo Bielsa’s men for the foreseeable future, having agreed to a five-year deal that will tie him down at Elland Road until the summer of 2026.
James comes to Leeds having been something of a bit-part player at Manchester United last season, only starting 18 games, and with the arrivals of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, that playing time was likely to go down even further, so hopefully he’ll be able to get some more minutes under Bielsa at Leeds.
Leeds United posted a video confirming his announcement, interspersed with footage from the initial failed signing, on their Twitter page for fans to react to, and it’s fair to say that there were plenty of them delighted that the deal was finally over the line:
“Well that’s pretty epic. I genuinely believe this will be a huge signing. So many years ahead of him. Well done Victor. Well done Leeds. Welcome to Leeds Dan.”
Will Leeds finish in a European spot this season?
At least they’re able to celebrate his signing properly last time, now that there is no way that the deal can be messed up once again at this point.
