In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Steven Gerrard has been discussing what the future holds for Alfredo Morelos.

There has, once again, been much talk about Morelos leaving the club as he almost nearly did 12 months ago when Lille were in talks to sign the striker, which would have seen him miss out on an SPFL title if he had joined the French side.

Should Rangers cash in on Alfredo Morelos?

Morelos has seen himself linked away this summer and with just two years left on his current deal, the Scottish champions may consider selling their main striker if they want to receive a good transfer fee for him.

Gerrard gave his thoughts on Morelos’ future when asked what the future holds for the Colombian at the club.

He said: “I don’t know, I can’t answer that question for you. For me, we want the best version of Alfredo.

“That’s all we’ve ever asked for – the manager, the players, the fans, that’s all we’ve ever asked for. I’ve read a lot of stuff around Alfredo, I know where it’s coming from, but I don’t know what’s going to happen with him.

“I get asked this question every window, every few weeks, because you read more about Alfredo in terms of who he’s linked with or where he’s possibly going to go, rather than talking about what he does on the football pitch. So it’s getting a bit tiresome, that question.”

TIF Thoughts on Morelos’ future…

Tore André Flo is Rangers club-record signing, but how much was he bought for?

Since he arrived back in 2017, Morelos has become a fan favourite at Rangers having scored 94 goals in 182 appearances for the Scottish side but with his future constantly uncertain, maybe Gerrard could be tempted to sanction the sale and recoup some money.

That could be a possibility as Gerrard is still yet to spend any money this transfer window with his three new recruits arriving as free agents, so the Rangers manager could see this as an opportunity to reinvest and give his squad some fresh new faces.
