Many Celtic fans have been raging at Anthony Ralston’s performance against Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League qualifier recently.
Ralston had started the game at right-back for the Bhoys, with Stephen Welsh and Nir Bitton starting at centre-back and Greg Taylor starting at left-back. Callum McGregor, Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull had started in midfield as well. Bitton was sent off in the first-half, as Liel Abada had scored.

These Celtic fans are clearly not pleased by the way that Ralston performed and some don’t believe that he’s good enough for the club.
Ralston is actually Celtic’s only out-and-out right-back option in the senior side and while Lee O’Connor is an option, the ex-Manchester United youngster hasn’t played even once for the Hoops in his career.
Ralston may not have been a regular for Celtic last season, but he does have Premiership experience. So he’s certainly the most established option at the club.
So it is perhaps not his fault that he’s playing at right-back in a Champions League qualifier and the club’s board should’ve signed another right-back.
