A lot of fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustrations at the latest claim to emerge regarding their transfer dealings.

According to Charlie Eccleshare, a price for Cristian Romero is yet to be agreed upon in the talks between Spurs and Atalanta for the Argentine defender.

Would Cristian Romero be a good signing for Spurs?

It has been reported earlier this week Spurs are interested in signing the defender, who Fabio Paratici bought from Genoa in 2019 for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £23.4m during his time at Juventus.

Romero played a huge part in Atalanta’s success over the course of the 2020/21 campaign, with the 23-year-old making 31 appearances in Serie A for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side (via Transfermarkt).

Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from The Spurs Web relaying Eccleshare’s claim with many venting their anger towards the Tottenham board.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Well that’s that then, might as well give up hope”

Romero also played a role in Argentina’s Copa America success, which saw the defender return from injury to play for 79 minutes in the final against (via Transfermarkt).

Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans, it is apparent they would love to see Romero join this summer, which can be sensed through their frustration towards Daniel Levy, who they feel may scupper the deal.
