Celtic fans can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players. First up, who is this?

On the subject of Celtic’s reported interest in signing Starfelt, Romano had this to say on the situation.

He said: “Carl Starfelt is an interesting centre-back and he’s really close to joining Celtic.

“They are in negotiation with Rubin Kazan, they are working to find an agreement with the player but they’re confident.

“I feel a lot of confidence for this deal for Celtic.”

Starfelt signed to Rubin Kazan back in the 2019 summer transfer window from IFK Goteborg in a deal worth a reported fee of £900k.

Since then, the 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £2.7 million according to Transfermarkt, has made 42 appearances for the Russian across all competitions, in which he has managed to chip in with three goals and one assist.

TIF Thoughts on Fabrizio Romano’s comments on Celtic’s interest in signing Starfelt…

Given how Celtic managed to concede a total of 29 goals in the SPFL last season – their worst rate since the 2015/16 season – this suggests that their defence could do with some strengthening.

Would you be happy to see Starfelt sign to Celtic?

Also, with Shane Duffy leaving the club after his loan spell last season and with Kristoffer Ajer being linked with a move away from Parkhead, it seems that a potential move for Starfelt would be a sensible transfer move from the club, in our view.

With Romano now sharing his confidence about Celtic’s reported move for Starfelt going through, it seems that he could well be the next player to arrive at the club, with the Hoops already busy this summer.
