Sky Italia journalist Matteo Moretto has recently revealed an update about the situation of Romano, claiming that Tottenham are now looking to push for the Argentine defender.
Will Spurs sign Romero?
Fabrizio Romano has claimed recently that Atalanta are set to sign Hellas Verona’s Matteo Lovato this summer and an agreement has been reached, while La Dea remain in talks with Spurs for Romero.
What did Spurs fans make of this news?
“OH YEEEEEEES, THIS MADE MY DAY”
These Spurs fans are delighted that their club now appear to be pushing for the central defender.
Romero is still 23 and apart from having had a very good season with Atalanta last season, he did well for Genoa in the past too, grabbing very impressive WhoScored ratings for his clubs over the past two campaigns.
He’s clearly a quality player, and with Toby Alderweireld having departed, Spurs would need a reliable defender soon. Romero’s WhoScored ratings in Serie A over the last few seasons suggest that he’s certainly worthy of replacing the Belgian – so Tottenham could be onto a winner if he adapts as quickly in another new team should he join the club this summer.
