Speaking on Leeds United podcast LS11, presenter Lewis Cooper spoke about what Victor Orta is planning for the remainder of the transfer window.

Leeds have gone about their business quietly this summer, bringing in just three signings in the shape of Lewis Bate, Jack Harrison and Junior Firpo, which is a polar opposite to last summer ahead of their debut Premier League campaign when they brought in six players.

Do you think Leeds should try and sign Damsgaard this summer?

No

The Whites were reportedly interested in bringing in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher on a season-long loan deal, but it appears that the midfielder has opted to remain in London and join Patrick Vieira’s new-look Crystal Palace side.

Cooper made an interesting Orta claim on the Any News LS11 show.

He said: “I was trying to say that Orta’s got something in the pipeline, a bit like Raphinha last year that was sort of a deadline thing. So I think he knows that we definitely need some more strength in midfield.

“I think there’s enough there to get through the season if injuries weren’t a thing – but obviously they are a thing.”

TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ transfer business…

You can certainly see where Cooper is coming from, as Leeds swooped in at the end of last year’s ‘summer’ window to sign Raphinha in early October – and given the effect that the Brazilian had in his first year at Elland Road, it could be argued that Orta saved his best deal until last.

A repeat of that would clearly go some way to pleasing the fanbase as far as Cooper is concerned, and considering Bielsa is yet to sanction a massive outlay on any players as yet this summer, perhaps it can be expected for something bigger to arrive before the deadline.

Leeds have seen themselves linked with some exciting players this summer including the likes of Mikkel Damsgaard, who scored against England in the semi-final of Euro 2020, as well as Adama Traore, who Orta signed during his time at Middlesbrough.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

Orta certainly supported Bielsa last summer with signings such as Diego Llorente, Rodrigo and Raphinha, so it may not be surprising if Leeds manage to secure a few more deals before the close of this summer’s window.
