Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer does not believe Harry Kane will refuse to report for Tottenham training in order to force a move this summer.

According to The Telegraph, some of Kane’s England team-mates believe he could decide to stay away from Spurs’ pre-season in his mission to join Manchester City.

The 27-year-old is said to be a primary target for the Premier League champions, who are also after his compatriot Jack Grealish.

Can you see the Kane saga turning ugly?

It could be a really good opportunity for Kane, who will be desperate to pick up some silverware, especially after coming so close with the Three Lions.

Even so, Palmer cannot see the Spurs striker going on strike effectively to push a move through.

“I don’t believe that. I don’t believe that at all, and that’s not the way to push a move through,” the ex-Leeds United star told TIF.

“I don’t believe Harry Kane, as the professional that he is, would do that. He’ll conduct himself in the right manner.”

Kane is a Tottenham legend. When it comes to league goals, only Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Smith have scored more than the England captain’s incredible tally of 166 since the club’s founding. He will surely not want things to end this way.
