Image for Newcastle United: Fans react as training image emerges

Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to a photo that has emerged on social media of a recent training session at the Tyneside club.

This comes after Newcastle-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post that contained an image of several Toon players in action during a recent training session at Darsley Park, which was originally posted by the club’s official Twitter page.

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

The players captured in the image included Florian Lejeune, Yoshinori Muto, Javier Manquillo, Dwight Gayle and Jeff Hendrick.

This post then gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Toon supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the matter.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest training image?

“If ever there was a photo to bring you back down to earth with a bump, after enjoying the distraction of the Euros.”

@SteveBurn91

Awful photo how depressing”

@Luke_NUFC

“Looks like it’s taken from an ad that would have had for sale above it”

@scully161280

“Is this a photo of them catching the bus out?”

@us_toon

“They all need replacing”

@RossDa4Eye

“Those five players stink of Championship football. It’s so depressing to be a Newcastle supporter man.”

@DiscoDan18

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that these Newcastle fans aren’t particularly pleased or excited to see this group of players in training.

Going off this reaction from these fans, it’s safe to assume that they would be open to seeing the club sell some of these players and replace them this summer.

However, with current Toon owner Mike Ashley involved in two separate court cases against the Premier League regarding their previously failed Saudi-backed takeover, it seems that this could be his main priority this summer instead of signing new players.
