Paul Stewart thinks that Aston Villa would be an excellent move for Harry Winks if he’s not in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.

Winks has racked up 109 Premier League appearances since breaking into the Tottenham first-team under Mauricio Pochettino but has fallen out of favour last term, which has led to speculation surrounding his future.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are set to listen to offers for the midfielder, who made just nine starts in the league last term and has expressed his desire to leave his boyhood club to enhance his game-time.

Having already signed Emiliano Buendia, whilst going after the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe and James Ward-Prowse, it’s clear that Dean Smith is looking to bring in players with Premier League experience – with Winks ticking all the boxes.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

Having missed out on the England squad for the Euro’s, he’s has already reported back for pre-season, although it’s not yet clear whether the 25-year-old will be fancied by the Tottenham boss.

Stewart exclusively told This is Futbol:

“If you’re not in the plans, you want first-team football and want to play at that level, so it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that Winksy could end up there.

“I can’t see Jack Grealish being there, so you can see Winksy going there if Grealish moves on.”
