Football.London’s Sam Inkersole has told This is Futbol that West Ham signing Adama Traore and him becoming a centre-forward under David Moyes is a possibility.

His future at Molineux is in serious doubt after failing to agree terms over a new contract with the Midlands outfit, with his current deal expiring in 2023.

Do you think Jesse Lingard would want to return to West Ham?

According to Football Insider, the Hammers have enquired about Traore, who’s valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, which is considerably less than the fees that were being mentioned not so long ago.

He played upfront 12 times last season, but doesn’t boast a great goalscoring record having scored just 10 times in 131 outings in all competitions since joining Wolves from Middlesbrough three years ago.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

Despite his less than inspiring record in front of goal, though, Inkersole told This is Futbol that he could follow in the footsteps of one former and one current West Ham attacker and change roles:

“David Moyes has turned two wingers into strikers with quite good success in Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio.

“From what I’ve been told, if he were to go to West Ham, that might be an option that Moyes would consider and let’s be honest, West Ham are a hamstring injury away to Antonio from really struggling.

“It makes sense to go for him, the Europa League would help, and it would be a good move for him. Personally, I think it would be a very good move for West Ham.”
