West Bromwich Albion fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments made by club CEO Xu Ke.

This comes after Baggies journalist Joe Masi shared a post on his Twitter page relaying comments made by Ke, also known as Ken, in a recent statement released by the club announcing the appointment of Valerien Ismael as their new manager.

In his statement, Ken said he is “confident” that by working together, the club will be able to achieve their goal of returning to the Premier League – but that their plans “must look further into the future”.

Ken also added that for too long, the club have been more focused on the short term, meaning they “have often neglected long-term aspirations”.

This post then gathered a number of replies from Baggies supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the matter.

So, what did these West Brom fans have to say in response to Ken’s latest statement?

“omg, long-term thinking? at WBA? Can’t believe my eyes”

@Hannanar

“Love this from Ken tbf”

@NatMansell

@LukeyP_wba

“It’s a start! But actions speak louder than words as they say”

@shukokai_mike

“About time”

@wbaliam

“At least they’re finally realising it…”

Looking at the replies to Masi’s post, it seems that this group of West Brom fans are pleased to see that Ken acknowledges the importance of long-term planning for the club in order for them to be successful.

Considering how there have been previous reports suggesting that the club’s current owner Guochuan Lai is looking to sell the club, it’s understandable why these Baggies fans are surprised to hear this latest statement from Ken about their long-term aspirations.

In our view, if new West Brom manager Valerien Ismael is able to take the Baggies back to the Premier League, then the focus will then be on the club to fulfil their goals of progressing even further.
