West Bromwich Albion supporters have been reacting to the latest news and rumours involving their football club.
West Brom-focused account WBA Report shared a report suggesting the Baggies were interested in Stoke midfielder Sam Clucas. The tweet was referring to an article by Football Insider, which has claimed that West Brom have ‘registered their interest’ in the 30-year-old.
Fans of the Baggies were quick to respond to the reports and weren’t shy when sharing their thoughts on the latest transfer rumour.
“Surely there’s better and younger out there.”
“Oh dear, so overrated”
“4 years too late”
“Poundland shopping again”
“Let’s hope this is just a rumour”
“We have sunk so low..decent a few years ago but this appears to be the extent of our ambition now. What a blessing we have such passionate owners lol..troubling times.”
Football Insider suggests that Clucas would be available for £3million, should Baggies choose to sign him. However, judging by the reactions from Baggies fans, many would be against the signing, with some supporters questioning his age.
Clucas is versatile and can play numerous positions, as a left-back, left-midfielder, or in the centre of midfield. The 30-year-old would provide some good Championship experience for the Baggies, who are still searching for a new manager, with Clucas having made 141 second-tier appearances in the duration of his career so far.
With the reported price being just £3 million, Stoke would be selling Clucas for about half the price they bought him for three years ago, with the Potters buying him from Swansea City for around £6 million.
