Sheffield United fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest news and rumours involving their football club.

This follows a tweet from Sheffield United-focused account The Bladesman relayed a report from journalist James Shield on Slavisa Jokanovic’s transfer targets this summer.

The report from The Star claimed that the Blades are targeting a midfielder and two defenders, with the Blades boss highlighting a lack of depth when it comes to cover for the likes of John Egan and Chris Basham.

This triggered a response from Blades fans, some of whom thought this may be an indication of Jack O’Connell’s fitness or future at Bramall Lane…

Perhaps telling that the top line of the article doesn’t include JOC? Hope that his recovery is going well and that we see him very soon – arguably our most gifted player. #sufc #twitterblades

Judging from the replies, Blades fans would be satisfied with the priorities of their new Serbian boss but some would also like to see an additional midfielder.

Sheffield United face a tricky task to bounce straight back up to the Premier League next season after a tough time of it this year, where the club were relegated back to the Championship after a two-year stay in the top tier.

The priorities of new boss Jokanovic may change though depending on outgoings, amid the rumoured interest in players like Sander Berge, Aaron Ramsdale and Oli McBurnie, who have all been linked with moves away from the club this summer.

Jokanovic will be looking to add to his list of promotions from the Championship next season, and it looks like plans are well underway to ensure the South Yorkshire side can secure an immediate return to the top flight.
