Queens Park Rangers fans were recently delivered some ‘great news’, as the club announced that striker Charlie Austin is returning to the club.

The striker spent the end of the season on loan at The R’s and found form as QPR finished the season strongly, after ‘amazing form’ in 2021 which saw The Hoops finishing ninth in the Championship, missing out on the play-offs by just nine points.

Austin scored 7 goals and assisted 1 for QPR in 21 league appearances and his positive impact at the club has earned him a permanent move back to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The Englishman has signed a two-year deal at QPR, leaving West Brom in the process, where Austin netted 11 times in 45 appearances during his two-year stay at The Baggies.

Hoops fans have been reacting to the signing on Twitter…

Austin re-joins the R’s after scoring 48 goals in 89 games during his first stint with QPR between 2013 and 2016 and helped guide the Hoops to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs during the 2013/14 season and QPR fans will be hoping that Austin can do the same this time around.

The 31-year-old struggled for form at West Brom and it could have been argued that his best days were behind him, but he really made an impression during his loan spell in west London at the end of the season, which has clearly given fans a huge boost ahead of the new season.
