Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

Jones arrived at Newcastle in January, and his arrival led to the Toon winning seven and drawing five games as they finished in 12th place.

Before his arrival, Newcastle had failed to win a match since early December, and clearly, he impressed Gareth Southgate as the England manager snapped him up as part of his coaching team for Euro 2020.

Gibson is concerned that England might take Jones permanently, such was his impact at Newcastle.

He said: (7:46) “I’m just delighted that Jones came here because his attitude has been terrific. He’s great one on one with players, as well as the overall team picture. He did it brilliantly with Martinez for Belgium; he’s now doing it for England.

“So his stature is high within the game, and I think [him coming in] was terrific and is one of the big pluses for next season. Hopefully, he will be here for the whole season and not be taken away by Gareth Southgate permanently. Heaven forbid that.”

Do you think that Jones will stay at Newcastle?

TIF Thoughts on Jones…

It is clear that Jones had an impact on the team because results picked up after he arrived, and the players on Tyneside also like him.

However, he has worked on the international stage before with Belgium, and if England have a successful Euros could Southgate try and lure Jones permanently?

It is possible, but we hope that Jones stays at Newcastle after the good work he has done already.
