Leeds United journalist Phil Hay has been sharing some details on the summer business that could be taking place now or in the coming weeks at the Yorkshire club.
On the subject of what business could be going on behind the scenes at Elland Road this summer, Hay had this to say.
He said: “It’s one of those where there’s a lot of stuff bubbling in the background – player contracts, Bielsa’s contract, obviously, which will come at some stage, but him being him, never comes at a rate of knots.
“And I think we will, before long, start to see a bit of movement with signings as well, but I don’t think it’s going to be a highly dramatic summer, everybody seems pretty content with where the club are at, and I think everybody feels pretty content about the shape they’re in going into next season.”
TIF Thoughts on Phil Hay’s comments on Leeds’ summer business…
Going off what Hay had to say on the matter, it seems as though whatever business Leeds do this summer is likely to take place or become official during the next few weeks.
Whatever deals do take place before the end of August, it appears that Leeds are very much taking everything in their stride, which is perhaps testament to their impressive top-flight campaign last term.
How many players do you think Leeds need to sign this summer?
In our view, from a transfer perspective, with Leeds managing to concede 54 goals in the Premier League this season – more than the likes of Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion, who both finished below Leeds in the table – perhaps they should be focusing on signing a new defender to help strengthen their backline for next season.
