A lot of Leeds fans have flocked to a post from Leeds Insider on Facebook, relaying an article from Football Insider including a claim from ex-striker Noel Whelan on Rodrigo De Paul.

Fabrizio Romano claimed that Atletico have opened talks with Udinese over the Argentine.

However, Whelan told fans to “watch this space” because he has “two massive clubs looking at him”, claiming that the other club – Leeds – may be more attractive as he expects Atletico to falter in their defence of the La Liga title next season.

The post from Leeds Insider was captioned ‘It could be back on’, however, these Leeds fans were not convinced by Whelan’s claims and can’t see the Whites signing the 27-year-old.

De Paul had a stellar season for Udinese, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists in the league, so it is no surprise to see the likes of Atletico Madrid sniffing around.

This post continued to draw in many Leeds fans who had their say.

De Paul was heavily linked with a move to Leeds last summer, but now with Atletico after him, you could be forgiven for thinking that Leeds have missed out on their opportunity.
