In an exclusive interview with This is Futbol, Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has urged his former side to sell Serge Aurier, insisting that they need an upgrade at the right-back position.
Aurier was brought to Tottenham by former boss Mauricio Pochettino, and it is the current PSG manager that is reportedly looking to sign him this summer after a string of less than impressive displays for Spurs this season.

Aurier has played 110 times for Spurs since he joined in 2017 but with the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty also able to play right-back, there appears to be a willingness to sell at least one of them.
Speaking on why Spurs should sell Aurier, who Ryan Mason dubbed “outstanding” following the win against Sheffield United earlier this month, this summer and where they must upgrade in the transfer market, Roberts exclusively told This is Futbol:
“Aurier has been rumoured to go to PSG so he has to go because we need an upgrade on that side of the defence.”
Tottenham have experienced an indifferent season with them now outsiders to qualify for the Champions League but they did reach the Carabao Cup final, although they did lose 1-0 to Manchester City.
The £70,000 per week defender’s competition at right-back has mainly come in the form of Doherty, however, the former Wolves defender has also failed to impress at his new club where he has played as a full-back instead of his usual wing back.
