Former Everton striker Marcus Bent has exclusively told This is Futbol that the club aren’t looking to bolster their central defensive department this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have kept three clean sheets in four matches, but their defensive errors of late have been threatening to derail their push for Europe.

Everton’s goalless draw at Aston Villa on Thursday saw them miss the chance to leapfrog Tottenham and leave their hopes of playing in European competitionfirmly out of their own hands.
But whilst the Toffees defended solidly on that occasion, Michael Keane made two costly mistakes in the recent draw with Spurs, whilst his centre-back partner Mason Holgate gifted Ollie Watkins an opener in the reverse meeting with Villa 10 days earlier.
Everton have been linked to Kalidou Koulibaly, who Ancelotti managed during his time with Napoli, but Bent believes that the Toffees aren’t actively looking at upgrading, and has backed the pair to come through this difficult period.

“They started off really well, the mistakes they do tend to make are ones they can correct with confidence, consistency and experience.”
