In an exclusive interview with This is Futbol, Newcastle United Hall of Famer, Rob Lee, has claimed that Joe Willock loves being at Newcastle and the Magpies will get a chance to buy him permanently.

Willock has been enjoying a successful half-season loan spell at Newcastle which has raised speculation over what Arsenal would be willing to accept to part ways with the 21-year old.

Should Newcastle sign Joe Willock?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There have been reports that Arsenal would likely be looking to accept an offer in the region of £20 million, something the Magpies may choose to explore in the summer, as well as another loan deal.

Speaking on why it was a risk signing Willock on loan and how other clubs will now be interested in the midfielder, Lee exclusively told This is Futbol:

“Well, I think that’s the chance Newcastle had to take because it can be like that with any player if you don’t agree a price, but it can work both ways. If a player does really well the price might go up but at the same time if you agreed to pay £20 million and they’re rubbish you’d still have to pay £20 million.

Other clubs will be interested in Joe so he’s probably given himself options, one could be the option of staying at Arsenal but he seems to like Newcastle and the fans love him, so I think we’ll have a chance of getting him.”

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

Since he arrived on deadline day, Willock has scored five goals in 11 games with three of those earning Newcastle either a draw or all three points.

The 21-year old was not available to play in the Magpies’ defeat against parent club Arsenal, and his absence was thoroughly felt as Newcastle struggled in midfield.
