Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has told This Is Futbol in an exclusive interview that Douglas Costa could be a good fit for Wolves.

This comes after Brazilian journalist Vagner Martins (via Sport Witness) claimed that the Midlands club are ready to table an offer for the 30-year-old winger.

The £195,000-a-week Juventus star is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, where he has barely featured – largely due to injury.

Should Wolves try to sign Abraham this summer?

It means a permanent move to the German giants is probably unlikely, giving Wolves an opportunity to strike. And if he does end up at Molineux, Hendrie believes Nuno Espirito Santo would have a very talented player on his hands.

Speaking exclusively to TIF about Wolves’ reported interest in Costa, the ex-Villa player said:

“A player you would think would fit the bill for Wolves. I’ve always been a big fan of him. I think he’s sort of gone under the radar a little bit. At one stage, everyone was talking about him.

“He’d be certainly a player you think would fit the bill for Wolves, particularly the way they play, the style they player under Nuno. He’d bring that attacking threat that Wolves would certainly relish.”

This season has not been Costa’s first with Bayern Munich, with the Brazil international previously playing for the 2020 Champions League winners between 2015-18.

In that time, he was managed by Pep Guardiola, who described him as a “quality player”.
