Marcus Bent has exclusively told This is Futbol that Everton aren’t looking to replace Jordan Pickford this summer.

The England goalkeeper has missed just seven Premier League matches since his move from Sunderland four seasons ago but has come under major scrutiny this term following several costly errors.

Pickford conceded soft goals against both Fleetwood and Brighton earlier this campaign but has recovered with some excellent performances at both Chelsea and Arsenal, most notably.

His form saw him dropped twice this season and replaced by Robin Olsen, but Pickford has quickly established himself as Carlo Ancelotti’s first-choice goalkeeper.

To kick off this quiz on Seamus Coleman, what squad number does the right-back currently wear for the Toffees?

However, reports believe that Manchester United shot-stopper Sergio Romero remains hopeful of signing for Everton this summer having been left out in the cold by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with his last outing coming in the Europa League back in August.

Everton were linked with the 6 ft 4 Argentine in October but ended up signing Olsen on loan instead.

And Bent told This is Futbol that the Toffees won’t be signing Romero, despite his deal at Old Trafford expiring at the end of the season:

“That’s not going to happen, again I’ve been told that’s not going to happen. I got shut down on that one.

“This is how it was said. ‘Why would we bring in Romero when we have England’s number one and a Premier League number one in our team?’

“You can make a mistake or two, but if you continue to make mistakes you will get punished. He’s made a couple of errors, but he’s still young.”
