In an exclusive interview with This is Futbol, Steve Howey, who made 278 appearances during his career, has claimed that Roy Hodgson could remain as Crystal Palace’s manager, despite his contract being set to expire this summer.

Hodgson took over from Frank de Boer in 2017 when Palace were stuck to the foot of the Premier League table, and he has managed to keep them in the top flight for the last four seasons.

Should Palace keep Hodgson?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There have been reports suggesting that Frank Lampard is now the most likely candidate to take over from Hodgson at the end of the season, despite being sacked from his last job at Chelsea.

Speaking on how Hodgson could remain at Crystal Palace next season and how he still has the desire to be a manager, Howey exclusively told This is Futbol:

It just depends on if Roy wants to keep going but he seems to still have the zest for the game and he is a wise old character in the game, so I would like to see him stay on for another year.

I feel as though he’s still got another year in him but it is up to Roy and if he feels like he can still do it.”

There had been rumours linking Eddie Howe with the job but his representatives have confirmed that he will be waiting until at least the summer before taking another managerial position.

Hodgson has had quite a managerial career which has seen him manage teams such as Liverpool, Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and Inter Milan.
