Tottenham are eyeing Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare ahead of the summer window, according to the Mirror (as per SportsLens).

It’s thought that Soumare would cost Spurs in the region of £30million.

Why Lille’s Soumare is catching the eye

22-year-old Soumare is averaging 1.3 tackles, one interception, 0.9 dribbles, 0.4 key passes and two accurate long balls per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 this season (via WhoScored).

He’s helped Lille edge Paris Saint-Germain in the title race thus far.

Journalist Alasdair Gold said in February that Soumare would ‘fix a problem’ in the Spurs squad in that he’s a ‘top quality defensive midfielder’.

The French Under-21 would bolster Spurs’ already impressive depth in the middle of the park, slotting in alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks.

Soumare isn’t the only Lille player that Spurs are said to be interested in.

They’ve also been heavily linked with 21-year-old Dutch defender (via The Athletic).

Fan feed TranSPURS relayed the latest Soumare report, and here’s how supporters reacted:
