Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to footage of Gareth Bale in training ahead of tonight’s game with Everton in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s official Twitter account posted a video of Bale taking part in some shooting practice ahead of the game at Goodison Park, where he had some rather impressive finishes in front of goal including one with the outside of his foot, curling past the goalkeeper.

The Welshman has had something of a chaotic season back in north London, from being in and out of the team due to injury and managing his fitness, to having his future at the club brought into question and even going through a spell where he was seen as undroppable within the first team, only to now find himself back amongst the subs in their previous few league games.

But having seen the footage of him in training, there were plenty of fans who expressed their anger at not seeing him more throughout the season, and that hopefully they’ll be seeing more of him going forward:

“It’s a shame and a disgrace that Jose hasn’t played him more regularly.”

“Shame he doesn’t get on the pitch to do this”
“Great. Imagine having an overpaid manager that chooses not to regularly play a guy of this calibre. That would be daft wouldn’t it? Glad that’s not us. No wait…..”
“So on no other PL team does a multiple CL winner (winning goal x 2) sit on the bench behind Lucas, Lamela & sometimes Bergwin & its simply because he has never waxed lyrical about Mourinho to the press. Terrible management, this alone should get him fired !”
“How about putting him on the pitch??!?”
“Perhaps pick him, you know in the starting XI. Worth trying something different.”

Will Gareth Bale come back next season?

Let’s see if Jose Mourinho goes down that route and starts him tonight.
